This campaign is over.
You can still contribute to this campaign.

TODAY you have the power to forever change the lives of community families at their most vulnerable time! The underlying message that you are sending is: "You are not alone, I and others care about you in our community." At their vulnerable hour that message is like oxygen! It is the Jewish thing for a community to do.

Inflation and interest rates which are still high and the elimination of many many area government jobs lately has made requests of the Adel Fund rise sharply and it is because of you that no community family will be alone in their hour of great need.

When a person goes through a very difficult time financially in our area they often share with me how lonely they feel. They feel unnoticed and that everyone else seems to be doing fine and they are struggling in their own misery. Today more than ever it is vital that our fellow Jews in our community do not feel forsaken in their hour of difficulty. Your partnership in this campaign makes it clear to the many who are watching and the many who request help from the Adel fund throughout the year. You are not alone we are one community together and we are here with you to help you get back on your feet.

The war since October 7 is not only against the State of Israel, it is also against the Jewish people as expressed by the chilling Jew hatred that has emerged. We fight on many fronts to protect the safety, dignity and welfare of the Jewish People and the Adel Fund is one of those fronts. Ultimately the only ones we can truly count on is our Father in Heaven and each other and this campaign is one of the vital ways for us to express that value.

The funds raised today will go directly to families in our community struggling with short term inability to afford their very basic needs. The families helped by the Adel Fund could be every one of us as we ride the ferris wheel of life. Whether through job loss, government cutbacks trickling down, plummeting sales, ill health etc. The rising tide of the rough waters of capitalism does not raise all ships.

A Jewish community does not abandon each other to feel alone in their time of need left to the caprices of capitalism, corona or government's sudden priority changes.

TODAY our community is stretching itself to create a spiritual success, an energy and rhythm in celebration of the Adel Fund’s 16th year of serving our community; I am my brother’s keeper!

More about the Adel Fund:

The Adel Fund’s goal is to restore a family’s ability to fish rather than just handing them fish. Besides paying for a family's basic needs through a short term difficult patch, we help with a broad spectrum of services from interview training to loan renegotiation, budget setting to psychological counseling. The fund’s core committee comprise of Rabbi Mendel Bluming, David and Katie Colburn, Irwin and Orlee Panitch, Janet and Mark Zuckerman and Michele and David Klein. We also have many mentors and guides across the community who volunteer their skills and time to guide the Adel Fund through difficult allocation decisions. The Adel Fund is turned to by Jews of all synagogues and denominations and we respond confidentially and promptly. Today you can make a huge IMPACT! Join In!

May G-d repay you many fold and may you and yours always be on the giving end! Rabbi Mendel Bluming, Sharon Dekelbaum, Barbara Levine, Jan Shapiro and the Adel Fund Committee
